Question: I'm looking for some programs I could write, and have a Beginner Folder, an Intermediate Folder, and an Advanced folder for my job application so I can show off my work. What would be some good programs to write for an example? I can code Python, Ruby, C# C+ C++ LUA, and a bit more, But mainly looking for Java ideas. If you have any experience in this, or ideas, please post them here! I'm looking for head of design or software engineer, 19 years old. Let me know if you have any ideas!

appears like you artwork in a Microsoft keep. they are no longer uncommon and under no circumstances basically Microsoft-oriented. i comprehend of one business employer the position you should use any language you opt for see you later because this is python or a by-product. So i somewhat do have questions concerning the lengthy-time period viability of C# yet i might want to bypass with it contained in the fast run. Programming and pc technological understanding are a particular party of utilized math and as such understanding what you're doing is extra major than the niceties of syntax -- with a e book upon getting programming down you may write useful courses lengthy earlier you're keen to admit you've understanding of the language. In different words do not difficulty about it.

think of it this way: iterative = using loops recursive = nested calls to a function to illustrate better, look at the following example (function to get the nth power of a number) power(2,3); //get 2^3 //iterative public int power(int x, int pow) { int res = 1; for(int i = 0; i < pow; i++) { res = x * res; } return res; } //recursive public int power(int x, int pow) { if( pow <= 0 ) { return 1; } else { return x*power(x,pow-1); } }

If I understand your program you are correct in saying that you have written the iterative program. In short recursive means that a function calls itself. For example: DoSomething() { While ( i <= something) do something here; DoSomething(): } Usually you will use nested loops when writing a recursive function. Recursive functions are tricky to write, your teacher is correct in that it is easier because you have a lot less code, but the hard part is getting the logic. Good Luck! }

why don't you use DataInputStream instead of Scanner Class. You are using framework, so you have to use the same edition in all system. But DataInputStream is not like that , It will work everywhere. sample: import java.io.*; class test { public static void main(String ar[]) throws Exception { int i=0; DataInputStream m= new DataInputStream(System.in); i=Integer.parseInt(m.readLine()); System.out.print(i); } }

java features a convenience approach import java.awt.geom.Point2D; public classification FastDistanceStuff { public static void important( String[] args ) { double selection = Point2D.distance( 3.0, 4.0, 8.0, 6.0 ); gadget.out.println( selection ); } }
