I think you should let it come to you naturally. Try to get inspired. Listen to music, go outside, read someone else's book that might inspire you, but asking for ideas online shows me that you heart isn't really in it. This may just be me, but when I was forced to write on a topic they gave me in school I found that I had a harder time writing it than my own ideas because my heart simply wasn't in it. I didn't care for it like I cared to write something I created myself. There are lots of inspirations around you, you just have to take notice of them. Go to sleep, I know I get a lot of ideas from dreams. I just don't think that asking people online is a good way to start writing a piece. That's all. I'm not going to give you my ideas because those are mine, so sorry. But I really think that if writing truly means something to you, you would seek some inspiration of your own, not use someone else's creativity.

Virgee Originally Answered: Book Ideas for a book SIMILAR to The Hunger Games?
Well, if you want to write a similar book to the younger games, you can look up on war books and stories, including mythology too, since the Hunger Games is based on the Theseus and the Minotaur story and the Vietnam War. There's also other books that are similar to the Hunger Games. There's the Divergent Trilogy. It has a similarity to the Hunger Games because it has the fight to the death theme, also it's about the future of Chicago. Batle Royale, the japanese novel is very much similar to the Hunger Games, including The Running Man and The Long Walk.

Look, don't try writing similar books to anything. If you like the Hunger Games, you've read them, you'll get inspirations from the book. Like the style of writing, names, perspective's ect. But don't copy. If you are a good writer, think of your own opinion and don't think about the Hunger Games or any other books. Similar isn't an option in writing. And if you manage to do this, you might end up writing a great book! Good luck to you, hope you take on board what I'm trying to say, I just want to help.. :)))

Maybe there is guy going to war and he leaves his girlfriend behind at home and he finds love with one of the nurses at the war. If you like my idea you can just take the credit or you could say thank you Belle (tthats my name, I'm not giving out my last name though).

No self respecting writer would ever want another writer's ideas, let alone ask for them. If you have a story to tell, tell it. If not, stop wasting our time and yours. Shame shame shame on you!

I have the EXACT same problem. What helps me is to immediatley write down ideas for your story. Hold on to the idea, keep it on your mind. That way, more ideas will grow. Write down what they call a story triangle. Draw a right isoceles triangle with the 90 degree angle on the right. Start with how your going to begin the story on the angle opposite of the 90 degree angle. Write on the tip of the triangle, pointing upward, the climax of your story. Then at the 90 degree angle, write how you want it to end. While you hold on to your story idea, add bullets beside the triangle for things that will happen until the climax and what happens after the climax to the ending. That way, you have an outline, and you write your story! As a fellow aspiring writer, i wish you the best.

maybe you could keep a fixed setting and just interweave your multitude of plots into the story as subplots. If that doesn't seem likely, just keep jostling for ideas and write them down as you are doing. It may take a long time, but you will eventually conclude a storyline that works best for you; it'll just click. Your aptitude for variation in your ideas is a good omen when looking at the possibility of a successfully published book.
