Brain over Braun is the answer. Russia had the Braun, millions of men - American had the industrial might to provide all the arms needed to carry the fight to enemy. Britain did its bit with the military stuff too, The very best aircraft engine of the entire war was the Rolls Royce Merlin engine which was used in may of the allies aircraft. the best Bomber of the war was the avro Lancaster and many of the military advances where down to British brains. So Britons contributions where many ,but there was one thing that stands out above all else and that is the invention and first use of the very first programmable computer code named colossus which was invented by the British and used to crack the German Enigma codes. It can be argued that once the allies had the ability to read German coded messages there could never be a doubt who would win the war.

The USA Military spent more than the whole world military combine, our resources and firepower its second to none. there some countries with some high tech technology that could equal or surpass the US but they'll have prototypes in the single digits while the USA can mass produce them out powering them. wiki it and you'll see.

Well from my understanding both US and GB have both been in afghan for awhile and if they did go to war it would have to be after afghan. Being said the United States has the Strongest Navy in the world and we have more then 200 subs probably parked by every enemy the united states considers to be a threat. Also we would have a great advantage in tech. During war time our navy would probably be parked all around great britain. Our Air Force is more Advanced and superior then Great Britains. Our Marines and army would overwhelm there ground forces. And if this was a nuclear war it wouldnt be just Great Britain and US it would be Russia and China also North Korea but im pretty sure that they'll blow themselves up Its like considering Canadas military a threat. Thats how i would put this.

All right ima be biased here i'll admit great britain has very good special forces but they buy most military vehicles from usa(im not saying they dont produce there own)but usa has way more aircraft carries which could surround great britain lauching Hundreds of aircraft over britains island plus britain has no air craft carries in able use right now there all being upgraded so pretty much no doubt usa would win by far they could surround britain and just repeatdly bomb them from planes and ships britain wouldnt even be able to get over to the us

They carried the lion's share of the war until the US got involved after Pearl Harbor. America 'secretly' supported the Allies via Lend Lease, but the UK was at the pointy end.

maybe you should have asked this when it wasn't 3am in the UK, and you would of got decent answers from actual Britons who know what they are talking about. England is just England, the largest constituent country of Great Britain and the UK Great Britain is the Island containing England, Scotland and Wales The United Kingdom, or in full the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) plus Northern Ireland The flag of England - The St Georges Cross http://www.threeskins.com/acatalog/st1004_s.jpg THe flag of the UK and GB - THe Union flag, commonly called the Union Jack, but it should only be called that when it is flown on a jack mast at sea http://www.cs.bath.ac.uk/tom/skuki/images/Flag_of_the_United_Kingdom.png info on England - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England Info on Great Britain - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Britain info on the UK - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK

England is one of the constituent countries that make up the United Kingdom, along with Scotland, Wales, and the principality of Northern Ireland. Great Britain is the name of the island upon which England, Scotland and Wales (but not Northern Ireland) are located. England's capital city is London. England's flag is white with a thin red cross. Why the thumbs down? I'm from Wales, live in England and have visited Scotland and Northern Ireland so I think I'm fairly qualified! drarryfan246 - No, England and Great Britain are not the same thing, and many people in Wales, Scotland and NI would be quite insulted by your statement! The flag you describe is that of the United Kingdom which includes Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and Northern Ireland. To reply to the askers edit; many of those places you mention aren't countries (and wont have flags); Paris is the capital of France Italy is indeed a country :) I think Aden is in Yemen but I could be wrong Bombay and Calcutta are both cities in India. Singapore is a country :) Hong Kong is a country :) ShangHai is a city in China Yokahoma is a city in Japan Dublin is the capital city of Ireland
