This kind of program is called a quine. There are a number of approaches to making one. You can read about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quine_%28co... I tried to write an example for you, but I ran into some stupid problem with escape sequences. Java doesn't strike me as a particularly elegant language for trying to write quines.

Quote "writes" next time... Anyways if you are not to use FileReader, use FileOutputStream, BufferedOutputStream and DataOutputStream.... This is complicated then FIleReader but it should do the task. If you need help using these mail me on [email protected]

i don't understand java yet this best creates 5 aspects in the array, I beleive int[] consequence = new int[5]; in spite of the undeniable fact that right here you're dealing with way of 6 aspects. I anticipate impression[5] is inflicting a challenge. For (i=0;i<5;i++) if (outcomes[i] >=ninety && consequence[i] <= a hundred)

I'm not going to give you code, as this seems like your homework. Use if/else statements to make the sure number is between 1 and 30, then use a loop with the maximum number as the user input and print the asterisk inside the loop.

my approach to the problem psuedocode: main(){ //--library declarations //--have a string of the max size 30 //--retrieve numbers, either by random nums //--or by user input (need to specify where to get the numbers) //--use a substring to subtract from 30 string print30 = "*****************************"; String printX; int xSize; int[] tenNums = new int[10]; //--specify where to get the ten nums from!!! //--you'll place each number in "tenNums" //--loop through the ten numbers to print a substring for(i=0; i<10; i++) { xSize = tenNums[i]; printX = print30.substr(0,xSize); print("At " + i + " We have: " + xSize + " " + printX ); } //--loop through get the first number in "tenNums" to use //--as your substirng length (xSize) and print the substring //--from 0 to xSize. //--you need to specify if the ten numbers are given from //--user input or randomly generated..etc }
