Question: A few days ago, I had my laptop on by bed, and my dog pounced up on the bed right on top of it, knocking it to the ground, and later when I went to plug it in to charge, the connection between the plug and the port was loose, either it's broken or pushed back into the computer itself. What I need to know, is this: Is the charger port connected to the motherboard in any way? Please answer me, I keep switching batteries with my sister and she keeps charging the dead batteries on her laptop, but she's starting to get annoyed and she's not being very fast with giving me the battery...Sometimes I have to wait like an hour before I can get back on my computer. Please help...Or find someone who can help, or find a website...I'm actually using my sisters computer right now hehe....*Ahem* Please help me, I'm a writer and I need my computer! Please!

Hi Mischa I didn't have time to write a short answer so I wrote a long one instead Geek Squad makes their money by selling parts and services of course they are going to blame your power supply the battery they sold you is junk, look carefully at your receipt, does it say HP replacement battery model #, or does it say replacement battery FOR HP model# if it says HP replacement battery model#, then return it to BB and demand they provide you with the HP battery they charged you for as stated on the receipt how it's worded on the receipt matters, GS pulls this stuff as a matter of routine, selling you more parts claiming the problem with the new is caused by another part, your software, or your PC has a problem and you need to bring it in for diagnostics, that they will gladly do, and just as gladly charge you for, then claim it's some mysterious software glitch that cant be resolved, but they will still charge you for the diagnostic if your power supply was no good, it wouldn't charge the battery at all, and according to the specs you gave on the two, the new battery has a hair more capacity than the old and the charge should last as long if not a few minutes more than the original one did when it was new the new battery shows it needs to be calibrated because it isn't compatible with the HP health check, may be an issue with an HP smart chip not being on the battery, HP printers also malfunction when there's no chip or the wrong chip on a toner cartridge either way the new battery sounds like it's no good, return it and demand an exchange, or a full refund because its defective and not an HP part, don't let them give you any song and dance it's something else, they ordered a knock off to make a higher profit, trust me, if you make a fuss at the customer service counter, BB will take it back, don't go to the geek counter go to the customer service counter if they say take it to the geek counter, ask for a manager and stand your ground, point out the power adapter runs the laptop and does charge the battery's, and the capacity is a hair higher, yet new has no more charge life than the old one, that it reads incorrectly in software check as having a calibration problem, and if your receipt says HP replacement battery that it's not an HP replacement but a knock off and they charged you for a premium product, that you ordered an HP battery, if they say there's a price difference, demand they show you were told that or where it says you agreed to any "like parts" substitution for factory parts, point out BB has a 30 day return policy and that you called immediately about the problem (make notes of the time and date of all calls and store visits, with the full names of all persons and their job titles and what they tell you, it intimidates them if you ask for and take their full name down) oh yeah, if you can, take 1 or 2 people with you, BB don't like it when others witness them giving poor customer service, and a retail tactic is outnumbering the customer (subconscious intimidation EG: gosh 3 say i'm wrong, could i be wrong?) if they keep arguing ask for the store manager, but stand your ground If your not satisfied you can pursue the matter by calling BB customer service 800 numbers and by emailing them, which is when you will need the names and times of all persons you worked with on the issue (say "worked with" or "tried to work with" not "complained to") problems you can document in detail get resolved more often than not in the customers favor, in this economy retailers are customer hungry and want you happy, to keep you doing business with them Good Luck EH

Sometimes different batteries work with various computers however the chargers may or may not be compatible. If the battery has the same model number as the old one then I don't know maybe you have a faulty battery but if it has a different model number then I think you need a new charger. Hope I helped!!

if its slow defragment your computer, disk cleanup, set setting to low if it's that slow, download the newest adobe flash player update for youtube,i got nothing on your cd drive, it sounds like its having trouble reading or sensing the disks,try downloading some different programs,might speed things up, for your internet try using a different browser, like firefox or internet explorer (if you don't already) make sure your software is up to date andddd that's all i got good luck :)

hiya guy, I even have had themes alot like yours interior the previous. click on the beginning up icon, now bypass to regulate panel, now bypass to device, and device supervisor, under community adapters decide on your prompt card mine is intel, bypass to progressed, then prompt mode, make advantageous that's 802.11 a/b/g. if this would not artwork, attempt reinstalling or updating drivers from device supervisor.
